Photographic Technique & Equipment
Unless otherwise noted, all photographs presented here were taken with 35mm SLRs. Joel uses both traditional professional film and high resolution digital capture. At present, most of Joel's digital work is conducted with a 16.7 megapixel DSLR having a full-frame CMOS sensor. Joel employs a variety of top-quality lenses with effective focal lengths ranging from 16mm to 600mm; because these lenses are equally compatible with Joel's digital or film bodies, only the actual means of recording the optical image differs (film emulsion vs. CMOS sensor).
